Chief Inspector welcomes £8.8m boost for services to support older people in Mid and West Wales

Chief Inspector, Imelda Richardson, welcomes the £8.8m boost for services to support older people in Mid and West Wales announced today by the Deputy Minister for Social Services.

The announcement today provides a great opportunity for older people in Mid and West Wales. Older people in Wales must be supported and being able to stay in their homes for longer is so important to ensure they keep their independence.

This announcement also provides further opportunities for a number of agencies, particularly health and social services, to work closer together – an area we highlighted in our National Review of Commissioning earlier this year.
