Nominate colleagues or yourself for the Accolades 2015

The awards celebrate good practice in social work, social care, early years and childcare in Wales.

Organised by the Care Council, this year’s Accolades will be focused on the agenda set out in the Welsh Government’s policy paper, Sustainable Social Services for Wales: A Framework for Action and the new Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act.

The Accolades has partners from numerous organisations involved in agreeing the categories, the shortlisting and the judging.

The judges

The judges, including our Chief Inspector Imelda Richardson, are looking for initiatives that demonstrate how organisations have invested in creating “a new level of professionalism.”

They’re looking for evidence of investment in continuous development and training of staff, leadership development and collaboration that has broken down barriers.

To celebrate the Accolades’ 10th anniversary they’re also including a 10th anniversary achievement award, to be awarded to a project that has previously won an Accolade and is continuing to flourish.

How to enter

To enter, you could be in local government, the voluntary or independent sectors.  You could be a training provider, a social worker, a social care worker in domiciliary or residential care, working with young children in a day nursery, or carrying out any other role in these sectors.

The closing date for entries is 6 February 2015, with the finalists announced in April.

The lunchtime awards ceremony in Cardiff takes place on 18 June 2015.
