Chief Inspector Imelda Richardson welcomes £7.6m funding for young people’s mental health services

The funding has been announced by Health and Social Services Minister Mark Drakeford.

Chief Inspector Imelda Richardson said:

I welcome the investment in additional mental health services for children and young people and the increased availability of out–of-hours services. As part of our national looked after children report this year, we identified some of the improvements needed to deliver quality services for child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) provision across Wales.

This investment will help improve outcomes for young people and extend the current support available, which is crucial for those with often complex and varied needs.
