Statement on joint investigation at Plas y Bryn Care Home, Bontnewydd, Gwynedd

Our Chief Inspector’s statement.

Imelda Richardson, Chief Inspector of Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales, said:

We are working with North Wales Police following concerns we have raised on the standard of care being provided at Plas y Bryn Care Home in Bontnewydd, Gwynedd. We have completed a number of inspections in recent months and are not satisfied with the quality of care being provided to its residents, which remains our priority.
We have determined the home as a Service of Concern and we have advised Gwynedd Council to work with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to monitor the provision of care, and to provide support to the home to reduce the risk of harm to residents.
