Guidance about Huntington’s Disease

We have worked with the Huntington’s Disease Association (HDA) to provide our inspectors with guidance on Huntington’s Disease.

Huntington’s Disease is a hereditary disorder of the central nervous system. It usually develops in adulthood (between the ages of 30-50 years).

Our inspectors have been given advice about what to look out for when inspecting care homes where those with the disease are cared for.

The guidance for inspectors, which will also be of interest to providers, is available on our 'Huntington’s Disease' page.
