We are changing our name to Care Inspectorate Wales

The change will take effect from 15 January 2018.

Earlier this year, Chief Inspector Gillian Baranski announced at the Association of Directors of Social Services (ADSS) conference in Llandudno that we would be changing our name from Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) to Care Inspectorate Wales.

What does this mean for providers?

Providers do not need to worry, your registration will not be affected by our change of name.

If you see the name ‘Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales’ or ‘CSSIW’ after 15 January 2018, this should be read as ‘Care Inspectorate Wales’ or 'CIW'. Both are valid.

Forms and guidance

Forms and guidance on our website will be updated in the coming months. Previously published documents such as inspection reports will not be changed and will retain the CSSIW branding.

Forms that still have the ‘CSSIW’ name and logo will continue to be valid.

Contact details

Our telephone number will remain the same and all our email addresses will continue to work. However, we will have some new email addresses after 15 January 2018.

Our website name and social media channels will be updated to reflect our new name. We will signpost to the new website from the old web address.
