Local authority improvement check letter: Denbighshire County Council children services
This letter summarises the findings of our improvement check inspection of Denbighshire County Council’s children services in February 2025.
We conducted this improvement check inspection between 17 and 19 February 2025, to review the progress made by the local authority following our Joint Inspectorate Review of Child Protection Arrangements (JICPA) in 2023.
We carry out inspection activity in accordance with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014; key lines of enquiry; and the quality standards in the Code of Practice in relation to the performance and improvement of social services in Wales. This helps us determine the effectiveness of local authorities in supporting, measuring, and sustaining improvements for people and in services.
