National Advisory Board member
Who am I?
I’m Stuart Davies and I’m currently a registered manager overseeing community care services. I have over 25 years of experience working within social care, this includes working with children and younger people with physical and/or learning disabilities, and managing residential homes, nursing homes and now community care.
What do I do?
I am lucky enough to have worked in New York with children with learning disabilities, and adults with learning disabilities and behaviours that challenge. I have also worked as a volunteer in South Africa working in special needs school for 4 months.
My areas of interest and/or experience
My main driver within my work is equality, inclusion, and quality care and support for those that we support, along with fairness and respect for care staff. I am also part of the Fitness to Practice panel with Social Care Wales.
I have previously been a founder and trustee of a charity, where our purpose was fundraising and resource support to vulnerable children in Third World countries.
What’s important to me
Outside of work, my time is taken up with family, I live with my partner, our 7-year-old daughter, a dog and a cat! My main interests are sports, mainly watching but I am still trying to play cricket and have recently taken up touch rugby, music is another passion, listening not playing!
