National review of support for disabled children and their families
We are looking for people’s views about their experiences provided by local authorities for disabled children and their families.
We are currently completing a series of inspections, reviewing the arrangements for disabled children across Wales.
The inspections will highlight and seek to understand how local authorities adopt early intervention approaches, and their use of universal services which promote the application of the social model of disability.
The inspections will identify where barriers are created for disabled children and consider where practice supports, creates and offers equality, independence, choice and control.
Next steps
So far we have inspected children’s services in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Conwy, Torfaen and Ceredigion.
Our inspection reports for these services will be published on our website.
