Bridgend County Borough Council Children’s Services evaluation report has been published
The inspection took place between 23 May and 27 May 2022.
The purpose of the inspection was to review Bridgend County Borough Council’s Children’s Services and to consider if areas for improvement highlighted at our assurance check in April 2021 had been addressed.
We found some improvements had been made since April 2021. However, we continue to have serious concerns about the delivery of children’s services in Bridgend. The local authority has accepted the findings of this report and has assured us it is prioritising the work required to address the issues identified by this inspection.
Gillian Baranski, Chief Inspector, Care Inspectorate Wales said:
I am pleased to acknowledge there has been some improvement since our assurance check in April 2021. However, further urgent action must be taken to secure and sustain improvement in the care and support for children and families in Bridgend. This work must be prioritised to ensure the best possible outcomes for children. We will continue to liaise with the local authority’s senior leaders and are closely monitoring the local authority’s performance.
