Ceredigion County Council’s social services evaluation report has been published
The inspection took place in March 2023.
The purpose of the inspection was to review Ceredigion County Council’s social services.
We found, as with many local authorities in Wales, Ceredigion County Council is experiencing a challenging time in relation to the provision of social care. Many of the pressures experienced by the local authority reflect national issues including high levels of demand and increased complexity of people’s needs, including the impact of the ‘cost of living’ crisis.
We found for many people, their voices are heard, and their personal outcomes captured. There were examples of practitioners working collaboratively and consistently with people to support what matters to them. People we spoke with said they had been understood and their voice heard with effective and regular communication. 82% of people who responded to our people survey said they were treated with dignity and respect ‘at all times’ or ‘most of the time’ by the local authority.
