Changes for registered providers who need to vary their registration
These changes may apply to any provider wishing to varying the existing registration for a service, such as increasing maximum capacity numbers and childminders who are moving house.
At the moment if a provider needs to apply for a variation, there may be delays to the assessment process due to essential information not being submitted by the provider at the point of applying for the variation.
To help with this, we have changed some of our processes when providers need to:
- apply to vary their numbers; or
- move house (for childminders).
We will still carry out all necessary checks as required by law, but we have changed our model of application to make the assessment more streamlined and reduce delays. This will involve us asking for essential information earlier in the process.
These changes will be made to our CIW Online system early next year.
